Welcome!

TESSERAE: Art of Mosaic (Long Beach, CA, 2009)

A great way to develop your eye for mosaic art is to see the artwork in person. Books and catalogs are wonderful, but any printed work or computer monitor is a poor substitute for seeing the artwork. I had thought about creating a web site that provided information about mosaic exhibitions for a while. In July 2010, I received numerous announcements about exhibitions, so I decided it was time to act on my idea and put together this web site. You can look at the schedule for exhibition entry deadlines, and for exhibitions.

Mosaic Jamboree is a work in progress–even the name is subject to change–and I welcome your contributions and ideas. If you know of other exhibitions and shows, please send the information to exhibits@mosaicjamboree.com. If you have an idea for a resource to put on this web site that other mosaic artists would benefit from, please send an email to ideas@mosaicjamboree.com.

Thanks,
Tim

    Estimated Timothy,
    The idea seems very interesting.
There is a colony of Hispanic speakers who are enthusiastic and there’s mosaic great artists and teachers in the area.
I would also share the idea of information in Spanish and Portuguese.
Thank you for the sensitivity to listen to other opinions.

Thanks Tim, fabulous idea. You found a need. I love seeing mosaic art in person. It is great to see where it can be found. I agree with George, it would be wonderful to see more mosaic in galleries. I have just opened a gallery in Rockport MA that is both mosaic and fine art. Another list to create, what galleries have fine art mosaics? Pam

Great idea; hope that it will include worldwide listings. There is a similar site for arts in general rather than mosaic at http://www.artsbowl.com
Check out the site .. perhaps some ideas there for you.

Also great to know that at least one other person attended Sussex and ended up as a mosaicist. Are you going to the AIMC Conference in Athens .. if so, drop me an email.
